<text>Jennifer Henningsen established Keepsake Photography in 2002. She took photography classes at the University of New Hampshire and worked for the university's newspaper but followed a career in occupational therapy. Her photography career began once she had children of her own. Her son was diagnosed with Autism, and they had very bad experiences at 'chain' studios. Outdoor settings enabled Jen to photograph the look she loved in him. The word of mouth spread her business. Her residential gallery enables her to photograph newborns, young children and families all year round while the beautiful Colorado setting and weather enables her to shoot 9 months out of the year outdoors.
Being a member of the Professional Photographer's Association has enabled Jen to be privy to all the 'latest and greatest' with photography. In May of 2010 she will be attending the Texas School of Photography. She has also been a member of the Professional Photographers of Colorado PPC for 5 years.
Her mission is to give families a keepsake. "Our families are the most important part of our lives. The sweet faces of our loved ones are the best art on our walls." Jen was deeply touched by a phone call she received last fall. A mom who had terminal breast cancer and wanted a photo session with her husband of 13 years and 2 children, ages 5 and 7. She knew her diagnosis was poor, but she decided to do Chemo for a 4th time. She was going to lose her hair the following week and wanted a family photoshoot before this happened. "She stayed strong as I held back tears and captured her children hugging her and the bliss on her face. 3 months later, I was told that in her last days, she had to be ventilated. She asked for the album I made for them to be brought to the hospital. I will never forget her, her strength, peace with God, and her love for her family."</text>
